Story Summary

The program <The Couple Breaker> is a survival game where some couples who want to test their love attend and do various activities including physical touch to other couples to earn the prize money. Taerin and Ju-a are friends at the same university. However, Taerin’s boyfriend and Ju-a betrayed their lovers and cheated. Moreover, they decided to attend <The Couple Breaker> to become famous. As revenge, Taerin persuaded Ju-a’s boyfriend to go on the TV program as a fake couple.

• ->  Suitable to a challenging girl who overcomes adversity and turns a crisis into an opportunity

• -> Suitable to a mean character who wins favor from others by earning sympathy

Evaluation

Strength

• The story progresses at an appropriate pace, making readers curious about the following episodes.
• The characteristics of each character are clearly different, and the change in the situation according to the role of each character is attractive.

Weakness

• It seems to be possible to produce a drama because this webtoon has content that can easily occur in everyday life. It may be popular because it is a stimulating and interesting topic, but on the other hand, it may be difficult to obtain sympathy from viewers because the distinction between drama and love programs may not be clear.

Conclusion (Impression)

 ‘Love’ is an interesting topic for anyone anytime, anywhere. It seems difficult to find content that excites our hearts as much as watching the process of a man and a woman meeting and becoming a couple. There are many love programs including ‘Heart Signal’, ‘I am SOLO’, ‘Solo Inferno’. Then, there’s an extreme love program that casts broken couples, ‘EXchange’.    Surprisingly, all of these ‘love’ topic programs are loved by many people. So, the concept of <The Couple Breaker> also seems to be an interesting program. It makes readers feel not only nervous, fun, and jealous but also thrilling. I also deeply fell into this webtoon’s attraction.
